Moving Weekend [Jun. 29th, 2008|02:46 pm]
This is the first chance I've really gotten to stop and relax since Friday evening.
Josh and I are able to feed our internet addictions by borrowing someone's wireless connection.
What a crazy weekend.
I'm exhausted, sick with a minor cold,  and my purse was stolen out of our new house on Friday.
We didn't have any window coverings, all the lights were on, and our backyard was pitch black.
We left the back door unlocked because we had been going in and out.
Someone just took advantage of the circumstances and swiped my purse.
I lost everything anyone normally carries in a purse: credit, debit, atm card, checks, drivers license, military ID, keys.
It was horrible. And the cop was horrible. And he made me cry my eyes out.

Luckily we have secured the house as much as possible for now.
Things are better. My bank accounts are secure and I got a new license.

We're working on painting the house and slowly making this our home.
It's definitely been an interesting weekend.

...and a party will be in the making after we get settled.

[May. 27th, 2008|05:39 pm]

Josh and I officially got the house!
3 Bedrooms, 2 Full baths
Sunroom, W/D, dishwasher, fenced in backyard
We get to paint the walls and I'm going to have a little garden.
Josh is going to have his own music room and I am going to decorate the guest bedroom.

This weekend was nice.
We drove down to Savannah on Thursday.
We hung out with friends and caught up.
I made Sangria...4 times?
Yesterday Josh and I had a picnic in one of the mini Ardsley parks.
School starts next week, so I get to be lazy the rest of the week...

[May. 20th, 2008|11:10 am]
My summer break has been really nice.
Josh and I have been spending a lot of time preparing for the move and catching up with friends.
We drove to Southern Pines the first weekend to hang out with his family.
I also got to watch embarassing childhood videos of Josh.
Last weekend was the secret weekend trip to Boone, NC.
Rose, John, Megan, Matt, Jessica, Josh, and I surprised Thomas with a cabin trip for his birthday.
The house was great- hot tub, great views, lots of bedrooms, pool table, etc.
It was really nice having a weekend away to spend time with most of the friends before we leave Raleigh.

This week will just involve packing up necessities (since the movers can't come until sometime after this weekend) and tying up loose ends.
We'll be in Savannah by Friday...

Big Changes! [Apr. 29th, 2008|05:33 pm]
It's official!
Josh will be moving to Savannah at the end of May.
I am more than excited!

I know our relationship can only grow by relieving the stress relating to traveling back and forth.
We'll finally have completely relaxing weekends.
We can take trips to places other than Savannah or Raleigh (except when we want to visit Raleigh friends)
So many doors are going to open for us.
It's going to be great..

We are also planning on moving to a bigger place.
My apartment is a bit small for all the things we have accumulated.
Then it would be OUR place, not my apartment that Josh moved into :)
Maybe we'll even find a little house in midtown...

This past month has been fun and exhausting.
I turned 21.
Introduced myself into the nightlife that I have been missing.
Got the flu.
Went to Raleigh with Cat for Josh's birthday.
Now I have tonsillitis.

A few more birthdays are to come in the next month or so.
Next up: Cat

[Jan. 3rd, 2008|10:23 am]

The holiday break has been really nice.
I've been staying here in Raleigh for most of the holiday.
I drove up to the outskirts of DC for Christmas.
My family and I explored the spy museum and walked to the white house christmas tree.
Both of which were such a dissapointment.
Mom and I also went Sticky Fingers Bakery to get some vegan treats.

Josh and I decided to spend our New Year/one year anniversary in Savannah.
Josh bought some champagne, an antique-y chair, and a hand mixer for my anniversary present.
Yes, I'm a nerdy kitchen geek.
We went to Kai Thai Cuisine for dinner on our anniversary.
Since I was so hung over from the night before,
we decided to rent a couple movies and spend a quite night at home.

Every time I drive up 95, I want to stop at an abandonded playground off the South of the Border exit.
So, last night Josh and I stopped and had a mini adventure.
[I'll have to upload pictures later]

This year has been really great.
I never thought things could feel so right.

This is my dinky christmas tree.
I finally uploaded the other christmas pictures.

I drove up to DC by myself today.
Rilo Kiley kept me entertained as I drove through Virginia.

My birthday is coming soon,
and I almost feel like an adult.

a bit overdue [Dec. 6th, 2007|10:45 pm]

Visiting DC was great.
I love riding the metro all around the city.
My mom and I went shopping on 'black friday'
We went to the National Building Museum the next day.
Thanksgiving was different.
I ate tofurkey and my extended family joined us.
Normally it is just the four of us.

The next weekend Josh and I set up my itty bitty christmas tree.
We couldn't wait any longer to give each other our gifts.

School is almost over,
and my christmas party is this weekend.
It's good to have a break.

[Nov. 19th, 2007|05:05 pm]

Since we won't be together on Thanksgiving,
Josh and I decided to have our own this past weekend.
Yeah, we way over-did it.
Tofurkey, stuffing, gravy, cranberry sauce, creamed corn, green beans, and mashed potatoes.
oh, and some dumplings that came with the tofurkey..
I didn't like them.
Needless to say, we ate leftovers all weekend.

I'm heading to DC on wednesday.
I have a layover in Atlanta, so my brother and I will fly to DC from Atlanta together.
Mom and I are going to do the whole Black Friday shopping thing.
I'm definitely excited.

This weekend included dressing up and drinking too much.
I  finally hung out with Emily and Byron and had a great time.
It's great finding people you automatically click with.

Josh and I want to travel the states in a VW Westfalia.
Yes, it has a stove, sink, and bed.

I feel like I need to get out more during the week.
But there is nothing to do.
Other than go to bars.
And I'm too big of a wuss to worry about a fake id-
not to mention it's silly because I am almost 21.

I'm ready for the holiday breaks.
I miss my parents and can't wait to explore DC again.
Maybe I'll get a chance to see some old friends too.
And spend as long as possible in Raleigh.

Excitement! [Oct. 15th, 2007|09:58 pm]
I just read that my brother's band Morning State is playing a private show in NYC during the CMJ festival with Peter and Bjorn (from Peter Bjorn and John) along with two other bands (Black Kids and Walter Meego). Too bad it is in New York or I would totally be there.

Picnic in the park was fun.
It included pasta salad, tempeh sandwiches, vegan brownies, and screwdrivers.
Josh has the day off today, so after school we are going down to black orchid to get his new tattoo.
I've decided to wait on mine.

Fall break in Raleigh.
I'm ready to get out Savannah again.

things of recent times [Aug. 17th, 2007|01:54 pm]
Last night I went out with Erica.
After dinner we decided to have a sleepover at her new place.
I realized that we have known each other almost 14 years.
I'm glad she's back in Savannah.

School has started.
Although this semester will be a lot of work, I'm ready for the structure.

[music |Peter Bjorn & John!]

I thought I would update.
Things are great lately.
Just got a new bike.
I saw Morrissey with Josh, Courtney, and Patrick.
I fulfilled my child desires at the Ripley's museum while we were in Myrtle beach for the show.
I made an A in both my summer classes.

I will mostly be away until the next semester starts.
Atlanta, Hilton Head, and Raleigh.

[Jul. 2nd, 2007|12:48 pm]

The weekend was great.
It took me forever to get to Raleigh on friday.
There always seems to be some sort of wreck or horrible traffic when I drive up there.
Josh and I went on a movie date.
We saw Evening- it was so dissapointing.

Saturday we woke up to drive to Asheville.
We ate dinner at a really good vegan/vegetarian restaurant
and walked around asheville before the show.

The Smashing Pumpkins were awesome.
The venue was small so we were really close.

We spent the night at a friend of Josh's house.
In the morning we went to another vegetarian restaurant and ate scrambled tofu, soysausage, and biscuits.

We drove back listening to books on tape.
and ended the night watching Cops.

yeah, pretty amazing weekend.
